he 2026 CAPA Annual Volunteer Service Awards Ceremony will be held on Sunday, September 27, 2026, in the afternoon at the Walnut Senior Center. More details will be announced later.
To help everyone better understand this year’s application process and award criteria, please review the following important information.
🏆 2026 Award Categories & Ranking
This year’s State, Los Angeles County, City of Walnut, and CAPA volunteer awards will be based on the verified volunteer hours accumulated from August 1, 2025 through July 31, 2026.
1️⃣ State Senator Award — 8 recipients
• Volunteer hours ranked #1–#8
2️⃣ State Assembly Award — 8 recipients
• Volunteer hours ranked #9–#16
3️⃣ Los Angeles County Supervisor Award — 8 recipients
• Volunteer hours ranked #17–#24
4️⃣ City of Walnut Award — 15 recipients
• Volunteer hours ranked #25–#39
5️⃣ CAPA Annual Volunteer Service Award
• Students with 30 or more verified volunteer hours are eligible to apply.
📌 Important Application & Volunteer Hour Requirements
✅ 1. Volunteer Hour Period
Volunteer hours for the 2026 awards must be earned between:
August 1, 2025 – July 31, 2026
✅ 2. Volunteer Hour Submission Deadline
All volunteer hours must be completed and submitted through VTMS by August 25, 2026.
Hours submitted after the deadline will not be counted toward this year’s awards.

✅ 4. Name on the Certificate
The name printed on the volunteer certificate will be based on the name registered in the Walnut High School CAPA VTMS system.
Once an applicant’s name has been submitted to the state government or Los Angeles County, the name cannot be changed.

Award recipients are determined by the ranking of eligible and verified CAPA volunteer hours, not on a first-come, first-served basis.
Please make sure that all of your volunteer hours have been correctly recorded and submitted on time. The hours will then be reviewed and verified by the appropriate CAPA teams.
