Passing the Torch: The Legacy of the CAPA Intellectual Games Group

On the afternoon of May 16, the Saturday Group of CAPA’s Intellectual Games Program hosted a graduation farewell event at Suzanne Park, themed “Passing the Torch: Continuing the Legacy of Excellence.” Volunteer teachers, parents, and friends gathered together to offer their heartfelt blessings to the graduating seniors. They expressed their attitude toward the time and effort the seniors had dedicated to the Intellectual Games activities over the past four years, and wished them to set sail on a long voyage as they continue this new chapter of their future.

During the event, the seniors shared touching insights on their personal growth journeys over the past four years. Evolving from their beginning shyness and introversion to their current state of confidence and self-possession, they not only gained personal growth and lasting friendships but also continuously improved themselves through acts of service and dedication.

Their experiences deeply inspired the younger students in attendance, motivating everyone to uphold this spirit of legacy and carry it forward into the future.

President Tang has been specially invited to deliver remarks at this event, who highly commended the graduating seniors for their years of perseverance and dedication to the Saturday program. He encouraged them to bravely pursue their dreams, move forward with unwavering determination, and strive to achieve breakthroughs in their future.

Subsequently, amidst warm applause from the audience, President Tang presented certificates to the two graduates—Fanchen(Eric) Kong and Bailin(Thea) Pan—as a symbol of encouragement and blessing.

Following this, the volunteer teachers took turns introducing themselves, showcasing the positive and upbeat spirit of the new generation of members, as well as embodying the Saturday Group’s team culture of “passing the torch” that resembles the theme of the event.

To conclude the event, the host offered a final message to the graduates—drawing upon the poetic lines, “Like a mighty roc rising with the wind in a single day, soaring ninety thousand miles into the heavens”—to encourage them to remain true to their original aspirations and press forward with determination. At the same time, the host expressed the hope that the Saturday Group would continue to sustain its legacy and achieve even greater heights of excellence.
